Seven tanks, seven armored vehicles and about 40 Russian servicemen were destroyed.
The Ukrainian military conducted a successful counterattack near Mariupol on March 6, Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov reported.
"A successful counterattack near Mariupol! Yesterday, on March 6, the well-known National Guard regiment conducted a counterattack against Russian forces near Mariupol. Seven tanks, seven armoured vehicles and around 40 Russian servicemen were destroyed. Two Russian servicemen were taken prisoner, one of them a professional tank platoon commander. Documents and weapons of the dead and captured were seized.
Despite the encirclement of the city, heavy artillery and air strikes on Mariupol and the complete destruction of the city's infrastructure, Ukrainian soldiers are fighting fearlessly and inflicting huge damage to the Russian army," he wrote.
The journalist published a photo of the seized documents.
