Minsk was urged not to play along with Russian tensions.
On February 3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus called in the Ambassador of Ukraine Ihor Kyzym and declared "a strong protest in connection with the targeted launch of an unmanned aerial vehicle from Ukraine to the territory of Belarus."
According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, a UAV allegedly illegally crossed the state border of Belarus and was intercepted by the Belarusian military on January 24.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reacted to the allegation.
“Another provocation by the Belarusian authorities. Some “drones” appeared to replace the mythical "tons of weapons”. Ukraine did not use UAVs. Minsk was urged not to play along with Russian tensions. The entire region is interested in keeping peace on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border,” tweeted Oleg Nikolenko, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
