Head of the European Council Called On Belarusians To Resist Military Aggression Against Ukraine

Charles Michel made a strong statement.

President of the European Council Charles Michel called on the citizens of Belarus to resist the aggression against Ukraine. He noted that Europe is preparing a response to Russia because of the invasion of Ukraine.

It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a briefing by NATO and the European Council.

"I don't believe that the citizens of Russia want war. I also want to address Belarusians. You can choose to prevent aggression, not to attack your neighbours - the Ukrainians. You must also resist in order to support Ukraine and to prevent further threats and conflicts," Michel said.

He also added that the European Council and the European Parliament are preparing a severe set of sanctions against Russia.
