Political Prisoner Dzianis Hapanenka Released

The electrician of the Homel TPP was serving his sentence in Mahiliou colony #15.

Electrician of Homel TPP Dzianis Hapanenka, political prisoner, was sentenced to a year in the penal colony, although the prosecution had asked for a year and a half, reports Viasna.

He was charged under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code - allegedly on August 12, 2020, in an open telegram chat room, Hapanenka urged people to take to the streets to protest against election fraud, block the roads and go on strike.

Dzianis was serving his sentence in Mahiliou colony #15.

On October 1, he was released, having served his sentence in full, human rights activists report.
