The Russian forces have deployed barrier troops due to the fall of morale.

There has been a significant decrease of morale among the Russian occupying troops lately. That is why the command took the decision to deploy the barrier troops, threatening to shoot their own retreating soldiers.

This is stated in the report by the Intelligence of the United Kingdom, published by the British MoD on Twitter: “Due to low morale and reluctance to fight, the Russian forces probably started deploying “barrier troops” or “blocking units”, stated in the message.

It is noted that these units threaten to shoot their own retreating soldiers in order to compel offensives and have been used in previous conflicts by Russia.

“Recently, Russian generals likely wanted their comrades to use weapons against deserters, including possibly shooting to kill such defaulters after a warning had been given. Generals also likely wanted to maintain defensive positions to the death.,” the British Intelligence explained.

They also stated that the tactics of shooting deserters likely attends to the low quality, low morale and indiscipline of the Russian forces.

“I don’t know if Putin has given the final order. In any case, the Ukrainians will recapture this Ukrainian city this month. And this will trigger some very important political processes in Russia,” Andrey Piontkovsky stressed.
