Daryja Losik Detained In Belarus

The political prisoner's wife does not get in touch with anyone.

Independent Telegram channels reported the arrest of Daryja Losik, the wife of political prisoner Ihar Losik. Information about Daryja appeared shortly before that in the Telegram channel of the law-enforcers. At the same time, it does not report the detention of the political prisoner's wife.

As the pro-government Telegram channel writes, Daryja gave an interview to the Belsat TV channel in April this year. Belsat itself was recognized as an extremist formation back in November 2021. Such an interview, according to the authors of the post, may entail criminal liability in accordance with Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code for "facilitating extremist activities."

The law-enforcers do not report whether Daryja was detained, and whether she is charged under this article.

Journalists of zerkalo.io tried to contact Daryja and her family. Daryja Losik herself is not answering phone calls at the moment, the same as her relatives.

Blogger, media consultant of the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty Ihar Losik was detained in June 2020. In December 2021, he was sentenced to 15 years in a reinforced-security penal colony in the "Tsikhanouski case".
