Dmitry Bolkunets: Cutting off the Financial Oxygen to Lukashenka's Regime to Speed Up His Resignation

All loopholes must be closed for the dictator.

Lithuania and other EU countries, against which Lukashenka's regime has launched "migration blackmail," have more effective mechanisms to influence the dictator.

Political analyst Dmitry Bolkunets said this in an interview to Current Time:

- For example, one can completely block the transit of goods from Belarus by rail. It would be much cheaper, and the result would be much faster, than the fact that they will spend money to build this wall. Moreover, these walls should not be built but destroyed. The construction of walls does not seem to me to be an effective method against migrants.

- Are sanctions effective?

- Tougher sanctions, closing all the loopholes Lukashenka has. Neighbouring countries actively trade with Lukashenka, including the purchase of certain products, which generate the lion's share of the income for Lukashenka's entourage, including cigarette smuggling, a number of other areas. To close these loopholes, not to try to do business, and then to impose sanctions, but at the same time to impose restrictions.

If one shut out the financial flow to the Lukashenka regime, the time of his resignation will be hastened because it is obvious to everybody that this is a politician of the outgoing era. He will make every effort to sabotage the border. I assume that soon, Lukashenka will take more aggressive actions on the territory of the European Union countries.
