Who is Stsiapan Latypau
Stsiapan Latypau, a resident of the "Square of Changes" in the capital, was detained on September 15 near the mural with "DJs of Changes". A few days later, state TV channels aired reports that Latypau was allegedly going to spray poisons to poison police officers, however, there was no mention of these accusations in the case.
He is charged with fraud on an especially large scale (this is connected with treating territories against hogweed), organization of group actions that grossly violate public order, and resistance to the police during detention in the "courtyard of changes."
The trial of Latypau started on June 1. During the first court session the accused stuck a pen to his throat. Before that he said that the officers of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime threatened to initiate criminal proceedings against his relatives and neighbors if he did not admit guilt. The man was taken from the courtroom to the hospital, where he was operated on. No damage to vital organs was found. The night after the surgery he was taken out of the hospital and placed in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Volodarsky Street.
On June 10, the court sent Stsiapan for forensic psychiatric examination. On July 27, the hearing of the criminal case was resumed.
