The situation with migrants draws comparison with the act of air piracy.
Representatives of 11 countries - the USA, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine - called for the imposition of sanctions against the Lukashenka regime for organizing the flow of migrants to the EU.
This was announced on Twitter by member of the Latvian Seimas Rihards Kols.
The document says that the situation with migrants draws comparison with the act of air piracy - the forcible landing of the Ryanair plane: “This is a new pernicious assault of a European Union member state and a NATO ally.”
Important to note, the Lukashenka regime uses illegal migrants to put pressure on the EU countries. There is information that illegal immigrants are deliberately taken to the border of Belarus and Lithuania.
