The wife announced the disappearance of the athlete.
On July 21, the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Moscow Regional Court to extradite Aliaksei Kudzin to Belarus. According to unofficial information, sportsman Aliaksei Kudzin has already been delivered to Minsk, the Radio Svaboda website writes.
The Civic Assistance Committee, which was legally supported by Aliaksei Kudzin, reported that the athlete was probably taken out of the pre-trial detention center in Zelenograd (Russia) and taken by plane to Minsk.
Aliaksei Kudzin's term of detention ended yesterday. The Moscow Court of Appeal upheld the decision to extradite him to the official Belarusian side. Members of the Belarusian diaspora in Moscow, singer Anzhalika Ahurbash, Kudzin's lawyer, and his wife Tatstsiana were near the pre-trial detention center in Zelenograd until late at night.
“At 19.40, a minibus with flashing lights left the pre-trial detention center; there were employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service (Federal Penitentiary Service, - ed.) in it. We believe that Aliaksei was in the minibus. We weren't able to catch up with a minibus that was driving against the rules and not in the allocated lane. Members of the Belarusian diaspora report that Aliaksei was on the Moscow-Minsk flight, which departed from Sheremetyevo at 23.50. At 1.08, the plane was in Minsk,” the Civil Aid Committee told.
"Through our acquaintances, we learned that there was such a passenger on an Aeroflot flight yesterday. But I do not know anything for sure, and now I have to write a statement to the police that my husband is missing,'' said Aliaksei's wife Tatstsiana. "I came with a small child to meet dad, but we didn't succeed. Now, probably, I will return home to Belarus. We stayed in Belarus all the time because there is a reason to leave with so many children - we have five of them. But I'm not going to give up, we will continue to fight."
The fact that Aliaksei Kudzin was most likely taken out of the pre-trial detention center in the Moscow region was reported to the Tribuna by both the lawyer of the Civic Assistance Committee and the athlete's defender Maria Krasova.
In Belarus, Kudzin is accused under Article 363 of the Criminal Code (resistance to an employee of the internal affairs bodies or other person protecting public order).
The maximum punishment is up to 5 years in prison.
On July 21, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) banned the extradition of the Belarusian athlete, citing compelling evidence of his defense.
“We insist that the decision of the EHRH on the application of Rule 39 of the Rules of Court be taken into account,” the Civic Assistance Committee noted.
Midnight today marked the six-month anniversary of Kudin's imprisonment.
It was reported yesterday that representatives of the Belarusian power structures left for Moscow to detain kickboxer Aliaksei Kudzin. According to the Sports Solidarity Fund, they were identified by passengers at the Minsk airport.
Earlier, a Moscow court dismissed a complaint from the defense of Aliaksei Kudzin, who sought a ban on extradition to Belarus, where the athlete faces a long prison sentence for allegedly attacking police officers during protests last year in August.
