A political scientist's version of the parade's cancellation.
"For the first time since 1999, there will be no parade in Belarus. Neither on Victory Day, nor on Independence Day on July 3," writes political scientist Valeryj Karbalevich.
"Last year, contrary to the whole world that was defending itself against Covid, the parade was demonstratively held. And now they are not going to. Why not?" asks the political scientist.
Valeryj Karbalevich's opinion is that the dictator became paranoid after the start of the so-called "conspiracy case".
In particular, the fate of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, who was killed during a parade in 1981, gives no peace to Lukashenka.
"And the message of the Russian FSB, which actively contributed to the disclosure of "conspiracy," said that the coup was going to take place in Minsk on May 9 during the Victory Parade," writes the political analyst.
