It can be assumed that, in this way, he is persuaded to be deported from the country.
According to Oksana Poczobut, the medicines for Andrzej Poczobut were taken in the Zhodzina pre-trial detention center, but then they were not given directly to Poczobut. He has a bad heart, his rhythm is broken, the website Radio Svaboda writes.
Three political prisoners from the Union of Poles in Belarus - Irena Bernatskaya, Maria Tishkovskaya, and Anna Panisheva - were taken to Poland from the pre-trial detention center. They have no right to return to Belarus.
It is known that release in exchange for deportation from the country was also offered to Andrzej Poczobut and the chairman of the UPB Andżelika Borys, but they refused.
"The case of the Poles"
On March 10, the security forces opened a criminal case for holding an event in the Polish social school of scouts named after Romuald Traugutt in Brest. Then they detained the co-founder of the school, a 43-year-old resident of Brest, and director Anna Panisheva. Later it became known about the searches in Lida and Vaukovysk and the arrests of Irena Bernatskaya and Marina Tishkovskaya.
On March 23, Andżelika Borys was detained in Hrodna, and two days later, Andrzej Poczobut was detained.
All those arrested in connection with the "Polish case" were recognized by human rights activists as political prisoners. The sanction of the criminal article provides for from 5 to 12 years in prison.
