Minsker: I Want To Unite With Lithuania, Not Russia

Discussions on geopolitical issues often flare up at the pickets of "European Belarus" to collect signatures.

The press service of "European Belarus" has published an example of a conversation that recently took place when collecting signatures near the Victory Square metro station:

- Russia has seized our land. It took Smolensk, took Briansk and Velikie Luki. That's what Russia did. This is our enemy, - one of the Minsk residents says.

In response, a woman who came up to the participants of the picket started to put forward arguments that pension and wages are higher in Russia.

- I do not like the fact that our pensioners receive a low pension, - they answer her. - But what does Russia have to do with this? In Germany, the pensions are even higher. Why should I look up to Russia? You know, I have a son living in Lithuania, and the mother of the daughter-in-law is added the pension coefficient every year. All this is recalculated. By the way, it's the same in Ukraine, but not in our country. So, what now, to unite with Russia? Let's unite with Lithuania. I have a bad attitude to the situation with pensions. It is not enough. I want more. But what does Russia have to do with this? It will not add to our pensions.
