Former Prosecutor General Of Ukraine: Probable Customer Of Sharamet's Murder Occupies High Position

  • 9.07.2019, 16:30

The former Prosecutor General of Ukraine - about who is behind the murder of the journalist.

In an interview with the Strana.ua newspaper, a question was raised:

- The story of the murder of our colleague Pavel Sharamet. The case is still unsolved. But after your resignation, you claimed that you knew how to get to the customers of the crime. However, the public still has not received any new signals on the investigation of this crime.

- They will not be any... - Viktor Shokin said.

- Why not? And who is really behind Sheremet's death?

- I won't say the last name publicly. But I suppose and, as I said earlier, I am almost sure... In order to say with a guarantee, it is necessary to conduct investigative actions of a certain nature. And there is not much to be done there. I have already mentioned that it is necessary to return the group that investigated the murder of journalist Georgiy Gongadze... Those who are in charge of the Sheremet case understood me very well. I met with my colleagues who were dealing with the story of Gongadze - they believe that in my words there is at least a significant part of the truth. It's not 100%, and it must be checked - everything will take a month, no more. Then we could finish this case. There is probably a connection between these cases.

- Was one of the deputies involved in ordering this crime?

- We can say so. The man, who, in my opinion, was involved in that as the customer, used to occupy a rather high position and holds a rather high position now.
