Details Of Activists' Chase Of Truck Loaded With AKB 5 Plant's Production Revealed

The plant's opponents are keeping the 24/7 watch.
Tonight in Drahichyn, opponents of the construction of the battery plant near Brest stopped the truck, which had previously left the plant.
The website Charter97.org contacted Maria Halalyuk, an activist of the initiative group to combat the battery plant near Brest:
- We are keeping the 24/7 watch near the plant. If before that we did hourly duties, then after we saw that the factory showed signs of work, we started keeping duty around the clock. We monitor what is happening and how: noises, works, who comes, who leaves the factory.
Yesterday, at 22.30, I left home in the direction of the battery plant for the watch, which began at 23.00. The activists who were on duty before me said that the driver had arrived at the battery plant at about 22.50. He left his vehicle, sat down to warm the truck, and left the territory of the factory at 23.30.
I and several activists followed him. We were all shocked! Commissioning work allegedly takes place from 8 am to 8 pm, and, actually, there should be no actions at the plant.
It is worth saying that these trucks were on the plant’s territory, and although we didn’t see anything, we had suspicions that the other day they had loaded products into them.
You see, the truck drove in the direction of Pinsk. We activists followed it in three cars. Driving through the settlements, they periodically called the police, and near Drahichyn a patrol service arrived with a security officer and stopped the vehicles. By this time, we also managed to drive up. The driver checked all the documents right on the highway, he also had bills of lading. After the police said that in order to record and fully check the cargo inside, it was necessary to drive to a better lighted place. Such place was the gas station. We all went there, stopped, opened the truck and saw that there were ready-made batteries inside. I note that there were no identifiable labels on them. In the overhead it was written that the goods are transported from Brest to Pinsk.
All batteries were packed, and it was written on them that the products were fully prepared for shipment and packaging.
The police questioned everyone, checked the bills, and that was the end of their powers. In the future, other services should handle this. They let the truck go, and it went to Pinsk.
- What do you intend to do next, in connection with the evidence about the plant?
- Now our initiative group is divided into cells, where everyone does their own business. We have already called all supervising structures. Moreover, we have information that another truck left today in the direction of Pinsk. At the moment it is already in the town. The initiative group also called the police and escorted the truck to Pinsk.
I want to note that we are not going to give up. We are shocked that finished products are shipped from the plant at night. This does not fit the commissioning work that is presumably carried out at the plant.
We will continue to work, keep the watch, report on each step at the plant, constantly record violations.
