Credulous tourists instead of CZK received old Belarusian rubles.
Despite the fact that the Czech Republic is part of the European Union, it has not yet switched to the euro. In the country there are Czech crowns, which can either be withdrawn from the ATM or bought in the exchanger, writes kyky.org.
But scammers in the very center of Prague offer to change the euro for the crowns from the hands - but at a "profitable rate." Credulous tourists receive old Belarusian rubles instead of the Czech currency.
The Czech portal Seznamzpravy.cz publishes the Honest Guide project, in which Janek Rubesh and Gonzá Mikulka give advice to tourists "which you will not find in the guidebook." In the new report, they talk about this "business".
"In the center of Prague we found a group of people who spoiled the reputation of our city. And we are really unhappy with this. Beware! ", - the journalists wrote.
They themselves saw how foreigners who do not know what local money looks like, without doubt take "bunnies". One such scammer from the Old Town Square paid a fine of five thousand CZK (less than $ 250) and a couple of days later he again deceived tourists - someone called the police on him again. Journalists offer to share their video to get rid of this "illegal activity in the streets of Prague" together.
