Traffic Policeman Subjected To Responsibility For Odd Gesture At Crossroads

In Brest, an inspector of the traffic police was brought to disciplinary responsibility for odd gestures at the crossroads.

On May 19, a complaint was sent in the name of head of the traffic police of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Siarhei Talatai from editor of the news portal Real Brest Dzianis Maruk. In the complaint, he asked for an assessment and verification of the unclear gestures, shown by the registrar at the intersection of the Maskouskaya Street and the Partizanski Avenue in Brest, tut.by writes.

— Having analyzed the traffic rules I decided that these gestures only resemble those that need to be shown clearly with an outstretched arm in both cases. From a distance, the "yellow" in the configuration with the middle finger on the rod, outstretched upwards, with the arm bent in the elbow, and not stretched over the head according to the traffic rules, can seem offensive to drivers and pedestrians. The second gesture is also unsatisfactory: the right hand indicating the direction of movement is not stretched, as required by the traffic rules, but pressed to the body from elbow to shoulder. From a distance, as well as given poor visibility, such gestures can mislead drivers, which could contribute to the occurrence of an emergency situation on the roads of Brest, — Dzianis Maruk said.

The traffic police of the Brest Regional Executive Committee studied the complaint. The traffic inspectors were brought to disciplinary responsibility for improper performance of official duties.
