Sculls Wreath Brought To Lenin Monument In Biarozauka

The local activists “marked” the October Revolution Day.

“We brought the wreath to remind about the millions of people, killed by the Bolshevists, — local activist Vitold Ashurak told Radio Liberty. He has already packed the backpack, and carries his passport and cigarettes with him, as he presumes he might be punished for this act.

The activists bought the wreath in the local store. “We decided that such a butcher does not deserve any flowers, so we cut them, down, glued the images of the sculls on it and wrote “Burn in hell, butcher”. We added some barbed wire to make it more picturesque. The barbed wire is the symbol of Bolshevism,” — Ashurak says. They also left traditional carnations at the monument.

THE WREATH REMAINED AT THE MONUMENT IN BIAROZAUKA FOR LESS THAN HALF AN HOUR

Vitold Ashurak says people in Biarozauka do not come to the Lenin monument now, but only pass it by. He recalls how his grandmother told him that earlier this monument consisted of two people: Lenin and Stalin. Stalin was later removed, but Lenin remained.

Vitold was taken to the monument when he was a school pupil.

“It has been neglected lately. The paint comes off, he looks like he has a mange. It’s time to remove this Lenin, as he doesn’t fullfill his initial function any longer,”— the activist says.

According to Ashurak, when they returned to the place half an hour later to check, there was no wreath there.
