Prostitutes obliged to remove snow from Minsk streets

  • 7.02.2012, 16:47

The public utilities of Minsk continue their fight against snow, but have problems with cleaning streets and yards on time.

As onliner.by website reminds, Minsk mayor Mikalai Ladutska has repeatedly said Minsk residents must help street cleaners to remove snow. But people do not hurry to do for free what is supposed to be someone else’s work.

A new ruling was released after a sitting of the Minsk city executive committee: temporarily unemployed people registered in the employment centre, students and staff of city enterprises should be sent to help the public utilities.

Besides, as “Minsk-Novosti” reports, the persons sentenced by courts to community service for prostitution were also involved in street cleaning. The Minsk police department notes courts fined prostitutes (the total sum of the fines exceeded 170 million rubles last year), but not all ladies of the night preferred to pay fines. So, 42 of them were sentenced to community service, which includes street cleaning.
