Belarusian train with diesel oil derailed in Smolensk (Photo)

An emergency event took place took place on November 8, 7.45 a.m.

6 carriages of a goods train have run off the track between Smolensk-Sortirovochnaya and Smolensk-Central.

Among the carriages, as informed by “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, there were three tank-wagons with diesel duel. The train followed to Vitsebsk from Smolensk – Sortirovichnaya. There were no injuries or victims. The reason of the incident was a crack, a production defect, according to preliminary information.

According to Smolensk, the square of diesel fuel spill was about 70 square metres.

Railroad men say that only one tank-wagon overturned, and the fuel was spilled between rail-tracks only. The spill is limited and there is no threat of ignition and risk for ecological conditions.
