Lukashenka: Revolution starts in pig-breeding

The Belarusian ruler made a baffling statement during his trip to Belarusian regions.

“A revolution starts in the pig-breeding enterprise f Belarus,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka said in the Lyakhavichy district (the Brest region) during his working trip to regions.

He told to director of Beldan company Natallya Havarkova: “A revolution starts in your company. We have chosen Dutch and Danish technologies as a model re-build the pig-breeding in Belarus.”

Lukashenka stressed that similar complexes should be build all over the country. “Here is a model. You should decide how many complexes are needed in the regions, start reconstructing old and building new ones. You mustn’t invent anything new here, we just follow the already existing technologies. We should take them from Europe,” Lukashenka said and added that those were the advantages of the global crisis making the Europeans to work in new regions.

“We factor out the problem of revival of the rural areas and the health. It means that we are not going to close our projects here,” he said. “If we turn attention to the crisis when performing the programme of rural areas reviving, we will fail,” he added.

Speaking about harvesting, Lukashenka demanded to focus on speed and quality. “The main things today are speed and quality,” he emphasized. “The yield of 35-40 centners per hectare will be unreachable if we are once again caught by those heavy rains we had not long ago.”

The Belarusian ruler also noted that today “the fate of the harvest is in the hands of the agricultural companies of the Vitebsk, Mogilev and Minsk regions”. “These regions should harvest the maximum they can in order to save this year’s yield,” Lukashenka said.

According to him, strategic objective of this year’s harvesting campaign is to crop 85% of the fields. “As soon as we reach this figure, we can say that the harvest is saved,” Lukashenka said. “If we don’t show the speed today, we’ll don’t see the quality tomorrow.”

The Belarusian ruler also raised a theme of efficient processing of straw. “Do not burn or leave it in the fields as it is. Blame yourself for the consequences,” he told. “Why are you leaving it on fields? Distribute it carefully and fertilize the soil. In that way the soil will be better prepared for spring sowing. This will help reduce spending,” the head of state said.

Lukashenka stressed that the importance of harvesting grain, flax and potato in order in time to save them from late blight. According to the head of state, a large amount of hay prepared this year should be used to the maximum as well.

“We should remember that a billon people are starving in the world today,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka noted. “We just need to move and we will cope with everything,” he added.
